There are a few signs to look out for that can indicate your baby is on the way:
– Consistent contractions, coming regularly and lasting a long time.
– Discharge of bloody mucus from the birth canal.
– Discharge of amniotic fluid from the birth canal.
If any of the above signs occur, have your husband, family member or close friend take you to a health facility immediately.

Your due date is calculated to be 40 weeks of pregnancy. However, labour SHOULD start when the pregnancy is “AT TERM”, which is anytime between 37 completed weeks and 40 weeks, so, labour can start before your due date has arrived. If labour starts before 37 completed weeks of pregnancy, it’s called “Preterm Labour”, and it’s not normal. You should visit the hospital immediately.
